Installing Meshes

Once you’ve installed SuperGloo, you’ll want to get started by installing and configuring a supported mesh.

This documentation is still under heavy development.

Overview

SuperGloo can be used to install, upgrade, and uninstall a supported mesh.

Currently supported meshes for installation:

  • Istio
  • Linkerd
  • AWS App Mesh

See the following sections for more in-depth guides:

  • Installing Istio
  • Installing Istio follows a familiar path to any other mesh when using SuperGloo. In this section, we take a look at installing Istio and understanding the supporting SuperGloo API objects that get created when doing a mesh installation.

  • Installing Linkerd
  • Installing Linkerd follows a familiar path to any other mesh when using SuperGloo. In this section, we take a look at installing Linkerd and understanding the supporting SuperGloo API objects that get created when doing a mesh installation.

  • Registering AWS App Mesh
  • Installing App Mesh is slightly different from the other meshes. When we create a new App Mesh, we don't actually install one but -register- one with the AWS App Mesh managed control plane. In this section, we take a look at registering an instance of App Mesh and understanding the supporting SuperGloo API objects that get created when doing a mesh installation.

  • Mesh Discovery
  • SuperGloo can be used to install a new mesh, but it can also discover and compliment the management of existing meshes. In this section we look at how that works.
